Yesterday the coroner came to my neighbors house and took her away.  It got me to thinking.  I've lived here on this street since 2009 and in that time every house except mine has had someone die.  

So I wrote the poem this morning as I thought of the empty house next door and wondered what it all means. 

A condition which is identified by the distinctive and fearsome reality of mortality is best understood in spiritual terms.  At least that is the opinion I hold this morning and the one I have held much of my life.  

A Misunderstanding Between Friends

Mortality is the wolf dogging our steps from birth

becoming hungrier as the load becomes heavy

and the bones begin to resist,

and the legs are no longer able to dance

and from the heart comes groaning

instead of song.

Mortality is life's instructor,

it's daily inspiration

and in the end the wolf is a good old dog

that always was a friend.    (I changed the last line a little)

Death is a perennial topic of poets, philosophers and artists.  Allen Ginsberg sings "Father Death Blues".

Some Thoughts On Jesus And Government Sponsored Cruelty

Cruelty and oppression represent the operating program of an unjust society.  

Matthew 25:  31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

So there you have it.  Jesus gets pissed, really pissed, when he sees the poor being taken advantage of.  How do you feel about taking advantage of the poor? Are you in favor of it?  

You may not be in favor of screwing the poor but the the State of Michigan has an unsavory track record of not only deliberately poisoning their poor and needy in order to save money but then those not poisoned are accused of insurance fraud when no fraud has occurred. This shit has to stop.  Jesus thinks so too.

What do you think?  Is Michigan the only anti-human state or is it just one of many?  I bet you know of other regions in the world where the government makes efforts to harm the poor and those in need. Jesus don't like that either.  When this is all said and done Jesus is likely to turn out to be an enemy of the state like he was the first time instead of being the lapdog of the government.

Whether or not you believe in Jesus I'm guessing you are opposed to the kind of behavior exhibited by the State of Michigan against it's poor and those in need. 

I'm hoping you are opposed to this kind of anti-human behavior every place you see it.  I hope you do something about it.  Jesus is on the side of the poor. Which side are you on?  

Jesus had few, if any, good things to say about the wealthy who oppress the poor.  He insisted that the wealthy should aid and support those in need. Obviously Michigan has abandoned such an idea about the value of human life when that human life falls below a certain economic level. 

There needs to be justice here.  

What can you do to bring about social justice for the poor of Michigan and those near you? Jesus said to take up his cross and follow him.  Are you willing?

The truth is if you are on the side of the poor Jesus is smiling on yah.  You know how he feels about those oppressing the poor.  Chin up, it's only gonna get worse before it gets better. But it's gonna get better.  Jesus said so.

I also stumbled upon this very pertinent lecture by Eric Metaxes on the topic of the Gospel of Jesus as applied to society.  The lack of these sentiments of compassion displayed by the people who have designed society reveals the anti-Christ anti-human nature of the state as it now exists.  

The Spirit of Christ can save us.  The spirit of the State will destroy us. Let your heart call out to Christ and he will come personally to you and inform you of what you should be doing to bring about justice.

I came across an article you can read it to at www.citylab.com by clicking on the title at the top of the page.  In the article you will find a detailed discussion on the safety and transportation of fossil fuels.  Today a report by The Young Turks confirms the danger these oil people present to air breathing water drinking, family raising people. As luck would have it the Trump Administration is unlikely to care all that much for those who breathe air, drink water and give birth.

As luck would have it I was sent by Google this link to some revelations from the past by Rant! James Ambas youtube channel  which are relevant today. It's long so take off your ostrich hat and sit down with a drink or a joint and listen to it.

In the article you will find some informative and at the same time distressing maps showing all the accidents over a thirty year period and you will also be able to see the results of the accidents. One map has red dots that appear everywhere there was a fatal accident.  It will probably make you sick at heart as you watch the dots appear. But then you may be encouraged to be decisive enough to take a stand against such foolishness. You could be next.  You have as much to fear as those already slain had to fear.  Meanwhile, KARMA visits Corpus Christi Texas and poisons its water with unknown petroleum contaminants just before Christmas causing great hardship on the locals.

A while back I made a blog post about an ecological catastrophe caused by a corporate agency.  It's humorous, a tongue in cheek  News From The Future report on the fire at the fresh air works in Pistol Whip.  It's an ironic look at the way the corporate state responds to environmental collapse and the poor souls on whom it is collapsing.

Reconsidering The Topic Of Fake News

Here is an alternative point of view from a youtube channel titled, of all things, "Truthstreammedia" on the topic and scope of this FAKE NEWS bullshit. Take a look at the video. It's not that long. Is this report bullshit? Or do you think there's something to it?  Before you go here's a report from Boiling Frogs Post on the topic identifying those whose actively promote fake news with terrible consequences.

The freedom to criticize the government or perhaps some businesses may be rescinded if some kind of limitations on speech follow.  A case in point I found on AMTV. 

That's the danger.

Really! Do you need someone to explain things for you?

Are you that stupid?

Someone thinks you are not able to decide for yourself. Someone who wants to make sure the news says the 'right' thing.

Let me give you an example. If you learned that North Dakota had suffered from 85 pipeline failures in the past 20 years would you be persuaded that pipelines were necessary and above all safe?  It's true.  Since 1996 there have been 85 pipeline failures in North Dakota alone.  Ask yourself why it is the Water Protectors who are getting the heavy handed treatment? Come on. You know.  Talk about it with your friends and neighbors. Water is important, we can live without tar sand.

Fake News can consist of simply not reporting the news.  You did not know of the 85 pipeline accidents in North Dakota.  The Fake News did not inform you.   

Frankly I've been told the 'truth' by religions which turned out to be untrue and I've been told the 'truth' by governments that turned out to be untrue.

When it comes down to picking the right liar in order to find out what's going on it really improves your chances of becoming totally confused and easily manipulated. That's the purpose of FAKE NEWS.

As a result the best approach is don't start off as a believer. Begin the reading of the daily news with skepticism and make your own decision. That makes sense doesn't it? 

Another thing. Begin to question authority more frequently. In a republic like the U.S. the citizen is the boss the government always wants to alter that relationship.

One positive mental exercise is to trace back your opinions to their sources. What mental effect have accessing those sources of information had on you? 

Getting a grip on things like this can help you get back in charge of understanding information. You've got a brain, you've lived a life. You should be able to understand the news all by yourself.

There is more than one opinion on this topic of FAKE NEWS. The only one that matters is yours, because it is your opinion that makes your world.

Foreclosure On A Sunny Day

Foreclosure on a sunny day
a place no more my head to lay,
weary body, weary soul,
life indeed does take its toll.



Walking by the river deep
wishing for a place to sleep
I found a bed with cold water blankets 
to cover my head.

Now the dungeness nibble 
and sea lions thrash about
octopi gather 
plucking off my snout. 

I don't feel cold
the cold water blankets are warm,
tonight I sleep, 
but tomorrow no dawn.

Taking Stock: December 6th 2016 (life in these states)

I sat down to write a poem and ended up writing this.

The 6th of December

Taking stock :
I think I can limit myself
to two cups of coffee a day
or none...I have plenty of hot chocolate.

It's the food I worry about, I have $60 left
and $50 of it is dedicated to cat supplies.
Tomorrow I will have $16 of food stamps.

I hope the canned beans and dried rice are on sale.
I have pasta and canned tomatoes in the cupboard
and a half a brick of pepper jack cheese and 9 eggs in the fridge. 

If i'm careful I can make it.
I think.
I'm afraid next month will be the same.

Requiem For Mother Earth (a video)

As most sane people know the earth as a living system, and those dependent on that living system are being systematically destroyed by those who place the value of the profit motive over the value of the principles that support life and well-being.   I made the video to respond to the systematic despoiling of the living environment by those for whom profit is the meaning of life. 

In a metaphorical sense those who destroy the earth for profit are motherfuckers.  Why is it these metaphorical motherfuckers are welcome in the offices of our elected representatives? If we could stop these motherfuckers from having influence with lawmakers we might be able to save Mom, the kids and the future. Does that sound like a good idea?  

If the problem of environmental collapse is real it seems that we can solve it easily by forbidding political intercourse between motherfuckers and lawmakers.   We can ban motherfuckers, or we can hire honest lawmakers.  Either of those solutions would offer an improvement over the present "drill baby drill" environment of the motherfuckers. 

Came across this news today.  In case you did not know North Dakota alone has had 85 pipeline accidents in the last 20 years.  About four a year.  So you can see the Water Protectors are not the troublemakers.

If you're suspicious don't be afraid to speak up and above all don't be afraid of information.  Fake news is not a bad thing.  You don't have to approach the news as a believer, you have a brain.  It may turn out for the best to consider all news fake and make your own decisions.  Believers are wanted, even required, in a society such as American society.  Benjamin Franklin, one of the so called founding fathers, claimed it was the citizens first responsibility to question authority.  If you're a citizen believe nothing, question everything the government tells you.  It's what patriots and good citizens do.  When a government gets antsy when it's citizens begin to ask serious questions those citizens become in grave danger. But a good citizen will STEP OUT OF LINE and SPEAK HIS or HER mind.
