Poetry and photography by David H. Roche
Shirtsleeve
weather, blue skies, soft breezes;
a day for feeding
birds,
sitting back enjoying
sitting back enjoying
what comes
to pass.
Smoke from dried
flowers once a seed
rises from a bowl
that was once the
antler of a deer
now held in my hand
reveals tomorrow
will be
the host of wind,
rain, cold and clouds.
Watching the smoke
of the summer past
vanish in the wind
of the present
I 'prophesy' this
succession of changes
while shivering in
the sunlight and
acknowledging the
facts.
It's not magic…
it's the second
week of November
…that's all!
