 If America Is A Christian Nation

If America is a Christian nation 

when will it open it's doors to strangers in need?

If America is a Christian nation

when will it heal the sick

and give it's wealth to the poor?

If America is a Christian nation

why is there so much anger?

If America is a Christian nation

when will the world see our love for one another?

If America is a Christian nation

when will it cease to do evil and learn to do good?

I wrote the poem while considering the oft repeated claim that the U.S. is a Christian Nation.  The highlighted links refer to the documents that reveal the Christian faith and the principles of the Kingdom of God Jesus spent his life promoting. The principles are recorded in Bible verses which you can read when you click on the link. After reading the verses you can judge for yourself how the U.S. measures up to the standards of the Christian faith and decide whether or not it is a Christian Nation.
